Shaolin: A Promising Martial Arts Film
Shaolin is a 2011 film directed by Benny Chan is a good entertaining movie focusing on a classical story about a monk who must defend a temple against an ambitious and cruel Lord. Special appearance of Jackie Chan in this film significantly increased the popularity of this movie. As to the film’s main theme song Wu, it was performed by Andy Lau and undoubtedly added some special appeal to the movie.
Unfortunately, I was late to the cinema because I had to complete my custom essay paper and essay paper before the deadline. However, even though I missed the opening scenes of the film, I managed to understand the development of the plot lines. The actions depicted in the film are set in the warlord era of Republican China . At the beginning of the movie, the warlord Hou Jie conquers his rival Huo Long because he wants to rule in Denfeng. After Hou Jie seizes the control of Denfeng, the defeated Hou Jie decides to hide in Shaolin temple, but Hou Jie kills him. Hou Jie commits a mistake when he humiliates Shaolin monks before leaving the temple, and it becomes the beginning of the main plot line of the film .
Even though the plot of the movie was not that complicated, I really enjoyed myself when watching it. This entertaining story allowed me to relax and gain new energy to continue my work on academic papers.
